Man arrested for murdering friend and setting body ablaze to destroy evidence

A 23-year-old man was arrested by the Bhuvanagiri Rural police for murdering his friend and attempting to destroy evidence by setting the body on fire on the outskirts of Maryala village in Bommalaramaram mandal.

The accused, identified as Ponnakanti Kashi alias Prabha, a garbage collector with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), was arrested on Tuesday (May 5) at Shiva Nagar Colony in Alwal, Secunderabad. Police seized the victim’s mobile phone and the bike used in the crime.
