Madurai City Police have booked a 62-year-old man, K. Karmegam of Thiruparankundram under the provisions of Indecent Representation of Woman (Prohibition) Act 1986 for making derogatory remarks against DMK MP, Kanimozhi.
The complaint has been lodged by K. Krishnapandi, 71, a DMK functionary from Thiruparankundram.
In his complaint, he said that his grandson had showed him on Wednesday a video clipping posted in a social media page in which Karmegam had made derogatory and false remarks that insulted the modesty of the MP.
Thiruparankundram police booked him under various Sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and under the provisions of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act and under the provisions of Indecent Representation of Woman (Prohibition) Act 1986.
