A 20-year-old man was found dead after allegedly being assaulted by his friends in Banjara Hills on Saturday night.
The victim, Raghuveer Roy, was a resident of Uday Nagar and was appearing for the SSC Board examinations. “He was a 20-year-old but was pursuing his Class X now,” said Inspector of Banjara Hills police, S. Suhasan, adding that the accused is a 17-year-old juvenile.
According to investigators, Raghuveer had gone out with three teenage friends when an argument broke out among them at Gowri Shankar Colony. “During the altercation, Raghuveer allegedly held the collar of the minor, following which the latter punched him two to three times on his temple,” explained the officer.
The assault led to internal bleeding and a brain haemorrhage. Later in the night, Raghuveer was found in an unconscious state at Hanging Gardens in Banjara Hills and was shifted to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
