A 28-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment on Monday for sexually assaulting a minor girl on February 5, 2022. B. Simran alias Mohanraj (28) of Ponnammapet had been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The trial of the case was held at the Special Court for the Exclusive Trial of Cases under the POCSO Act in Salem. On Monday, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment and imposed on him a fine of ₹11,000.
