Man held for ₹1.50 crores overseas job fraud

Kanniyakumari District Crime Branch police arrested a 31-year-old man from Madhavapuram, on Tuesday, in connection with an overseas employment fraud involving nearly ₹1.50 crores, in which around 130 individuals were allegedly defrauded.

Police said the accused has been identified as R. Santhosh from Madhavapuram. He had started a firm named Sanade man power consultancy in Mahadhanapuram, claiming that he could secure jobs in several companies in Dubai. He had collected ₹2 lakh to ₹3 lakh from around 130 individuals. However, he neither arranged a job for victims nor refunded the amount. During investigation, it was further found that he had sent some victims abroad on a visiting visa and later sent back without being provided jobs.

Based on complaints from victims, District Crime Branch police have registered cases under sections 61(2), 318(4) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

With further investigation, District Crime Branch police arrested Santhosh in Madurai on Tuesday and remanded him to judicial custody.

Police said, anyone who has been cheated by Santhosh or his company can lodge a complaint directly with the District Crime Branch or contact 94981 96976.
