A man reportedly hacked his elder brother to death following a dispute that originated over a chicken pakoda snack at Brahmamgari Matham mandal in Kadapa district.
V. Suresh, who was working as an earthmover operator, killed his elder brother V. Venkatasubbaiah (42) while in an inebriated condition in the early hours of Sunday, the police said.
According to the police, Venkatasubbaiah objected to Suresh bringing home chicken pakoda on Saturday, which is considered an auspicious day and is therefore not preferred in many homes for consuming non-vegetarian food. The war of words between the brothers ended abruptly when Suresh left home that night. Returning home early on Sunday allegedly in a drunken state, Suresh hacked his brother with an axe, killing him on the spot.
B. Matham police rushed to the spot and registered a case.
