Tiruvallur police, on Thursday (February 5, 2026), arrested a construction worker for stabbing a 36-year-old man to death.
Tiruvallur police said Nithyanandam was a resident of Poonga Nagar in Tiruvallur. On Tuesday (February 3), Nithyanandam accompanied his friend Chandrabose to the house of Ashok Kumar in the same locality. Chandrabose was angry with Ashok Kumar for being in a relationship with his cousin, Indumathi.
When both Chandrabose and Nithyanandam confronted Ashok Kumar asking him to end his relationship, Ashok Kumar took a knife and stabbed both Chandrabose and Nithyanandam.
Both were taken to the Tiruvallur Government Hospital for treatment. However, Nithayanandam succumbed to the injuries on Wednesday (February 4) night. Tiruvallur Taluk police arrested Ashok Kumar.
