Markapuram Collector inspects rehabilitation colonies for Veligonda Project-displaced families

Collector M. Vijaya Sunitha and Joint Collector P. Srinivasulu, along with other senior officials, inspected various layouts of rehabilitation colonies for Poola Subbaiah Veligonda Project-displaced households in Markapuram district on Tuesday evening. Instructions were issued to officials to adhere to the highest quality standards in the construction of internal roads and sewage drains in the layouts.

The Collector instructed them to complete all infrastructure works within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring that the project-displaced persons face no inconvenience. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “The district administration has accelerated the infrastructure works for providing basic amenities in the rehabilitation colonies for the project-displaced families.

The infrastructure works, including drinking water facilities, roads, electrification, and drainage systems, are under way at the rehabilitation colonies of Vemulakota, Idupur-1, Idupur-2, and Goguladinne in Markapuram mandal, as well as Tokapalli and Devarajugattu layouts in Peddaraveedu mandal.

The Collector directed that basic amenities, such as street lighting, schools, and anganwadi centres, be made available in the rehabilitation colonies on a war footing. The officials were clearly informed that the government gave top priority to the welfare of displaced persons and would not tolerate any delay in their rehabilitation.
