The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) will begin hosting weekly cultural evening at the amphitheatre in Rajaji Park in front of Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall after a fortnight, according to its Commissioner Rahul Ratnam Pandey.
The cultural programmes will be organised either on Saturday or Sunday. Each programme would last for an hour or more, he told presspersons during his first ‘Walk with the Commissioner’ programme at Central Market ward no. 41.
Initially the programmes will be hosted at free of cost. Later the MCC may make it ticket-based one to ensure that the artists earn some income. “The MCC will also try to give some remuneration to the artists from its funds,” he said.
Mr. Pandey said the modalities of hosting the programme will be finalised soon and the programmes will be launched after 15 days.
