A 27-year-old postgraduate medical student was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a hotel room in Miyapur on Friday.
The deceased, Komati Srijana, was pursuing her first-year postgraduate course in paediatrics in Hanumakonda. She had arrived in Hyderabad on September 30 and subsequently went missing.
Police traced her mobile phone location to Room No. 502 of Hotel Grand Brochil in Miyapur. The room was opened using a spare key, in which Srijana was found dead on the bed.
In his complaint, Srijana’s father, K. Bhumayya, told police that a man identified as Ravi Kumar had earlier taken her gold chain and that she had subsequently come to Hyderabad. The circumstances surrounding her death and Ravi Kumar’s alleged involvement, if any, are being investigated.
Miyapur police registered a case and launched an investigation.
