Kanniyakumari district police has banned entry of mineral laden trucks into the district on February 14 and February 15 for the safety of devotees during “Shivalaya Ottam.”
In view of “Shivalaya Ottam”, elaborate security arrangements have been made across Kanniyakumari district under the instructions of Kanniyakumari district Superintendent of Police (SP) R. Stalin. Around 1,000 police personnel to be deployed for security duties.
To ensure the safety of devotees travelling on foot, the entry of mineral laden lorries have been completely banned on February 14 and February 15.
As part of the security arrangements, two-wheeler patrol teams will be deployed at every two kilometres interval. A total of 44 two-wheeler patrol units, comprising 88 police personnel will be engaged in patrolling units.
In addition, “May I Help You” assistance booths will set up in key points and reflective stickers will be affixed to devotees bags to enhance their safety.
