Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar said the State government would take necessary measures to ensure stringent punishment as per law against those responsible for the murder of engineering student T. Akshitarani, 21, a native of Regadimaddikunta village in Peddapalli district.
The government would stand by the bereaved family, he said, while consoling the victim’s parents at their native village on Thursday. The Minister was accompanied by Peddapalli MLA Ch. Vijaya Ramana Rao and others.
He said the police would be instructed to complete the investigation expeditiously and file a charge sheet against the accused in the case.
The Minister said ₹4.12 lakh was being provided to the victim’s family as State government assistance and assured them that necessary measures would be taken to secure another ₹4.12 lakh from the Central government.
The MLA assured the victim’s family that a house would be provided under the Indiramma housing scheme and an outsourcing job would be offered to one of the family members.
