Bindu Krishna, Minister for Women and Child Development, has pledged all possible assistance and care for the survivor of the alleged Kochi gang rape case.
She also assured that the accused would be brought to justice. She was addressing the media after visiting the survivor at the Government Medical College, Kalamassery, on Saturday (October 10, 2026).
“Ensuring the safety of women is a key priority of the government. There will be no lapses in handling the case,” Ms. Krishna said. She added that counselling sessions were being provided to the survivor to help her cope with the psychological trauma.
The alleged gang rape took place on October 2, 2026, at a lodge in the city. The woman was reportedly invited to the lodge after being informed that she had been selected for a manager’s job. She was then allegedly drugged and gang raped.
