Minister urges police constables to stay disciplined, technically aware

As many as 142 police constable trainees belonging to Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts passed out of the District Training Centre (DTC) in Chittoor on Saturday after completing nine months of training. The passing-out-parade of the SCT PC-2025 batch was held at the DTC grounds here.

Minister for Transport and district in-charge Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, who was the chief guest, said it was heartening to see highly educated youth joining the police force. He said the government was giving top priority to filling vacant posts in the police department.

“The State government issued a notification for 5,000 constable posts at one go and completed the recruitment process. The stipend for trainees has been increased from ₹4,500 to ₹12,000,” the Minister said.

Calling on the trainees to uphold discipline and honesty, the Minister urged them to be technically aware in an era of artificial intelligence and rising cybercrimes.

District Collector Sumit Kumar said that for many people, a constable would be the first and most visible face of the government. “People expect justice, safety and good service from you. You have to be lawful, impartial and responsible while dealing with vulnerable sections and victims,” he said.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Tushar Dudi said the trainees should continue the discipline and efficiency they displayed today in the field as well. “Work with integrity and bring a good name to your families, DTC Chittoor and the State police,” he said.
