Modi government attacking Gen Z to protect a traitor, says Pappu Yadav

Independent MP from Purnea parliamentary constituency Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Sunday (October 11, 2026) alleged that the Narendra Modi government is attacking democratic values and taking action against the entire youth community just to protect “one individual and traitor” Gyanesh Kumar.

He also accused Mr. Kumar of murdering democracy and snatching the right to vote. Mr. Yadav added that, in the days to come, Mr. Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will have to leave the country after they resign.

He asserted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is leaving no stone unturned to protect the Constitution, and he is doing his best in the role of opposition leader. He further alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to kill Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra during the protest.

“Congress leader Rahul Gandhi walked 10,000 KM from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, from Manipur to Goa. He fought against inflation, demonetisation, GST. He raised his voice in support of students and farmers. If there is any leader who has raised his voice in support of common people is Rahul Gandhi. For the last three to four years, he is trying to protect the constitution and soul of this country,” Mr. Yadav said while addressing a press conference at his residence in Patna.

He further said that the Congress party is the future, vision and trust of the country.

“The Congress party is not fighting to gain power; the grand old party is struggling to ensure the people exercise their right to vote and names which have been deleted are added to the electoral rolls,” Mr. Yadav said.

Attacking the Union government, Mr. Yadav said that on Saturday (October 10, 2026) nearly 7,000 people were detained in Delhi, including journalists, YouTubers, CJP leaders and even common men. I have never seen such chaos in my entire political career, he added.

“People have the right to protest peacefully, and paramilitary forces were deployed to crack down on the youths. Entire Delhi was shut down, and the national capital faced business losses of thousands of crores. There is a frightened dictator, a dictator living in fear, and to protect one traitor, Gyanesh Kumar, entire Gen Z was attacked,” Mr. Yadav said.

He alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) helped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form government in 2024, and also helped the party to form government in Maharashtra, Haryana, Assam, Bihar and West Bengal by taking away the right to vote. Mr. Yadav also termed the governments of Bihar and West Bengal immoral, alleging that in both states governments were formed with vote theft.

Purnea MP claimed that officers who are doing injustice to the young people have to face the consequences and they will be put behind bars. During the media briefing, he also showed some videos in which protesters were being beaten.

“CEC Gyanesh Kumar will be hanged; this government will resign. He has murdered the constitution; this crime against democracy. He denied voting rights to poor people; he is a murderer. Modi ji and Amit Shah ji will have to leave the country,” Mr. Yadav said.

He said that during Manmohan Singh’s government, train services were not closed when Anna Hazare had launched the campaign against the government.

“A conspiracy is being hatched to kill Rahul Gandhi ji and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ji. In front of me, Priyanka Gandhi was attacked; opposition leaders are being treated even worse than dogs and cats. The people of this country no longer want this government; this government has made youth unemployed and burdened the country with debt,” Mr. Yadav said.
