The Authority advised the public against venturing during rain when it is accompanied by lightning. Farmers should refrain from outdoor agricultural activities during rain and lightning, and the public and fishermen should not go into rivers, water bodies or the sea.
During this time, the public should not go near dangerous or leaning trees or electric poles and should stay away from broken electric wires. If there are hazardous or leaning trees, they should be cut down in advance and residential buildings protected.
