Tiruchi Corporation’s plan to establish modern waste management facilities continues to move at a snail’s pace, with key projects showing little to no tangible progress despite repeated announcements.
The city generates about 450 to 470 tonnes of waste daily. While wet waste is processed into compost at Micro Composting Centres (MCCs), non-biodegradable dry waste is transported to the Ariyamangalam dump yard for processing.
