Namakkal District Collector L. Madhubalan, on Tuesday (September 29, 2026), warned that action would be taken against trucks overloading minerals or transporting them without proper documents.
On Tuesday, the Collector conducted vehicle checks at the Namakkal-Karur National Highway near Paramathi Velur after receiving a series of complaints about trucks transporting minerals above the permitted level. The Collector inspected the trucks that were loaded with minerals.
During the check, the Collector halted a truck carrying 10 units of M Sand without any documents. He instructed officials to seize the vehicle, which was handed over to the Paramathi Velur police. The police were directed to register a case against the truck.
The Collector, in a release, said that vehicles exceeding the permitted loading level or transporting minerals without adequate documents would face stern action.
