Senior leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former MP B. Vinod Kumar has requested Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to name the Mamnoor airport, coming up near Warangal, after Rani Rudrama Devi.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister on Sunday (September 20, 2026), the BRS leader said that claiming total credit for realising the airport was wrong though he had played his role as the Chief Minister. He noted that previous BRS Government and then Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had made efforts for the airport and even met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Civil Aviation Minister several times.
Mr. Vinod Kumar said the BRS Government representatives, including the former Chief Minister, had approached the Centre for revival of Mamanoor airport in 2014, 2018, 2020, 2021 and in 2023.
