NDA committed to welfare, development, good governance in Andhra Pradesh, says CM Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reiterated the commitment of the alliance government to welfare, development, and good governance in the State.

Mr. Naidu was addressing the gathering after inaugurating development works worth ₹11,085 crore under the ‘Palle Panduga-3.0’ programme at Ramapuram in Varikuntapadu mandal of SPSR Nellore district on Tuesday.

He emphasised that the Ministers and public representatives were not landlords, but servants of the people. He stated that the ‘Palle Panduga’ initiative marked the beginning of development programmes in villages. He noted that CC roads were being laid in front of every house, ensuring smooth transportation and comfortable travel.

Development works worth ₹50,000 crore have been launched in urban areas, while unprecedented development activities are being undertaken in villages as well, he said, emphasising that development was being carried out in a visible manner and that the focus was on strengthening the rural economy.

“Mini Gokulams (cattle sheds) and magic drains are being constructed. Efforts are underway to provide everyone with a house, a housing site, electricity, and solar panels. Villages must pave the way for a clean and prosperous State. We are trying to create wealth from waste to transform villages into poverty-free zones and reduce economic inequalities,” Mr. Naidu said.

Pat for Pawan

Lauding the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, Mr. Naidu stated that three ‘Palle Panduga’ programmes were successfully conducted with a spirit of dedicated activism. He noted that the development initiatives were launched by simultaneously holding Gram Sabhas across 13,326 villages in the State.

“After two and a half decades, promotions were granted to 10,000 employees across various ranks within the Panchayat Raj system, and ₹4,136 crore was released from 15th Finance Commission funds. Panchayat Raj Department has received 13 national awards under the leadership of Mr. Pawan Kalyan,” he said.

“The double-engine government is accelerating development and moving forward at jet speed. Welfare, development, and good governance are the mantras of the NDA government. The government is supporting women to become entrepreneurs and developing a milk brand comparable to Amul,” he said.

Mr. Naidu mentioned that measures were being taken to address drinking water issues and protect horticultural crops amid the continuing impact of El Niño.

“Housing pattas have been distributed to over 28,000 families in Visakhapatnam. Pattas will be handed over to another 24,000 people in Vijayawada. Foundation stone for three lakh houses will be laid soon,” he said.

Dagadarthi airport

Mr. Naidu announced plans to develop Dagadarthi airport situated between Krishnapatnam and Ramayapatnam ports. He mentioned that rail and road connectivity would be enhanced to develop Nellore and Prakasam districts into a logistics hub. Investments worth ₹1 lakh crore are expected through BPCL plant. Defence industries are also coming to the region, he said.

He called upon natives of the Nellore and Udayagiri regions who have settled elsewhere to return and participate in the local development. “It is the government’s duty to bring light into people’s lives and it is the people’s duty to stand by the government,” he said.
