YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLC Kumbha Ravibabu has demanded that the NDA government disclose all details of the ₹3.28 lakh crore borrowed in the last 20 months and specify sector-wise expenditure along with budgetary allocations.
Addressing the media in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, Mr. Ravibabu said that CAG data placed Andhra Pradesh at the bottom in revenue growth nationally, with annual growth at just 1.97% and questioned how the government claimed an 11.09 % GSDP growth rate without corresponding revenue expansion.
He said the NDA government almost equalled the five-year borrowings of the YSRCP government, but failed to implement even a single Super Six promise.
He said the coalition leaders falsely campaigned that the YSRCP left ₹14 lakh crore debt and would turn the State into another Sri Lanka, but Budget records confirm that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government had borrowed ₹3.39 lakh crore between 2019 and 2024, with debt growth at around 15% compared to 22% during TDP term during 2014–19 tenure.
Mr. Ravibabu said the previous government focused on asset creation and structural reforms, establishing 15,000 village secretariats, providing permanent jobs to 1.36 lakh youth, upgrading 17,710 government schools under Nadu-Nedu, setting up 10,795 Rythu Bharosa Kendras, constructing 10,032 village clinics, modernising 16,780 government hospitals, launching 17 new medical colleges, developing four ports, 10 harbours, and six fishing harbours, and depositing ₹2.75 lakh crore directly into the beneficiaries’ accounts through DBT.
He asserted that wealth creation in education, health, agriculture, housing, and infrastructure sectors was visible under Mr. Jagan’s leadership.
