The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused the TDP-led NDA government of spreading misinformation about the comprehensive land survey and falsely claiming credit for the pattadar passbook system introduced by its government.

Addressing the media on Friday, former Minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) said the government had not issued a single new pattadar passbook nor conducted any fresh land survey. The government merely reissued the same passbooks after removing the former Chief Minister’s photograph, purely for publicity, he alleged.

Dismissing the claims made by the ruling party leaders, Mr. Nani said Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad lacked basic understanding of the scale, planning, and hard work involved in executing the century’s first land survey.

He pointed out that the survey had been conducted systematically and transparently to provide farmers with clear land titles. Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had accorded top priority to farmers and implemented revolutionary land reforms, he said, adding, “From manual methods to modern, technology-driven surveys, it was the YSRCP government that transformed the land administration system.”

Referring to the second phase of land survey, he said there was no alternative for the coalition government but to follow the methodology established by the YSRCP.
