New command control centre opens in Anakapalli, to boost industrial safety

Superintendent of Police, Tuhin Sinha inaugurated a state-of-the-art zonal command control centre at the MASRM building at the Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City (JNPC), Parawada in Anakapalli district on Friday.

The new system aims to enhance coordinated response and prevent industrial accidents, especially in pharma units, and to enable swift action during emergencies.

According to officials, the centre, allows real-time monitoring of emergency services— fire brigades, ambulances, cranes, and police vehicles. To mark the launch, mock drill stimulating a gas leakage was conducted successfully. Officials reviewed various components on the ground, including information dissemination procedures, incident command control, arrival of fire services, gas neutralisation measures, shifting of the injured, and evacuation of employees.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Tuhin Sinha stressed the need for industries to prioritise safety. He said that timely and accurate information from industries during incidents would help the factories department and the police department to communicate the correct information to the public, thereby preventing unnecessary panic.
