A new power feeder line, created at a cost of ₹45.68 lakh was commissioned here on Tuesday to ensure quality and trouble-free power supply to Pothigai Nagar and surrounding areas.
The residential areas of Udhaya Nagar, Sharon Nagar, NGO New Colony, NGO ‘A’ Colony, Pothigai Nagar, Aanaiyaarkulam, Bharani Park, Ramachandra Nagar, and Santhosh Nagar were getting power supply from the 11 kV substation feeder line under the Perumalpuram Division.
To make power supply to these areas more effective and minimise the load on other adjoining areas getting power supply from this 11 kV substation, new feeder line – Pothigai Nagar Feeder — has been created at a cost of ₹45.68 lakh by installing the equipment in the substation.
Following the trial conducted in the newly installed equipment, the system was commissioned by Superintending Engineer of Tirunelveli Power Distribution Circle Akhilandeswari on Tuesday.
The newly commissioned system will ensure trouble-free power supply in these places and adjoining areas such as RTO Office Road, NGO ‘B’ Colony, SBI Colony, Drivers’ Colony, KLN Colony, Bharathi Nagar, STC College Main Road, Mullai Nagar and the adjoining areas.
