The National Institute of Technology Puducherry (NITPY) will hold its 12th convocation on February 19.
The event will be held at 11 a.m. at Ki. Rajanarayanan (KI RAA) Auditorium in the V.O. Chidambaram Pillai Administrative Block on Karaikal campus.
Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan will be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address, besides distributing degrees to Ph.D. scholars and medals to rank holders. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy will be the guest of honour.
Director and Chairman of the Senate Makarand Madhao Ghangrekar will preside. Speaker R. Selvam, Education Minister A. Namassivayam, Civil Supplies Minister P.R.N. Thirumurugan, Rajya Sabha member S. Selvaganabathy, Lok Sabha member V. Vaithilingam, and MLA C. Chandira Priyanga will be among those present.
A total of 297 graduands comprising 226 from B.Tech., 11 from M.Tech., two from M.Tech. (by Research), 20 from M.Sc., and 38 from doctoral programmes will receive degrees.
According to the institute, it has secured sponsored research projects worth over ₹5 crore. Around 170 students secured placements, with the highest package at ₹23 lakh per annum.
