Endeavour, the two-day sports festival was inaugurated at the National Institute of Technology-Karnataka (NITK), on Saturday, at Surathkal in Mangaluru.

National Institute of Technology-Karnataka (NITK) at Surathkal on Saturday, inaugurated “Endeavour,“ the two-day annual sports festival to promote the institute’s focus on sporting excellence and development.
A release here said, Endeavour is designed as one of the largest sporting platforms in coastal Karnataka to foster a competitive, vibrant and inclusive sports ecosystem. It will bring together a diverse group of professional institutions, athletes, sports clubs, associations and federations from throughout the region. Over 2,000 athletes participated in the festival.
Institute Director B. Ravi said, “Endeavour serves as a way for the institute to demonstrate its commitment to producing complete individuals by incorporating athletic activity and physical growth into the academic environment. The objectives are to create an opportunity for young athletes to showcase their talents on a national stage, to encourage coordination among different institutions within the community, and to create an overall culture of fitness, discipline and sportsmanship within the community, both on and off campus.“
Shreema Priyadarshini, an International Athlete and model and Saranya Raju, an International taekwondo player, attended the opening ceremony at the New Sports Complex (Athletic Track). The two-day event will include competitions in Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Swimming and Volleyball. The valedictory will be held on February 1, at 4 p.m.
