Keralam Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan
Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan on Wednesday (September 23, 2026) dismissed reports that the Keralam government had disagreements with the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) over the arrangements for the upcoming pilgrimage season.
At a post-Cabinet press briefing in Thiruvananthapuram, Mr. Satheesan also rejected reports that the government intended to replace the board. “When preparations are in full swing for the pilgrimage season, will the government replace the board?” he said.
The State government would offer all support to the TDB to ensure that the pilgrim season was free of complaints. The police and the Fire and Rescue Services had been issued directions in this regard.
As part of improving infrastructure, the government had already sanctioned â‚ą600 crore for refurbishing various roads in the region. Mr. Satheesan said he had already chaired a meeting with the TDB and intended to hold a bigger one at Pampa soon.
