The North East Division Police on Tuesday convened a meeting with jewellery shop owners operating in the jurisdiction of the Sampigehalli sub-division and directed them to implement the best practices and security guidelines issued by City Police Commissioner.
The objective is to prevent armed robberies and improve the overall security and safety of jewellery establishments.
The police outlined a set of mandatory security measures to be followed by all jewellery shops. These include the installation of CCTV cameras with adequate coverage and proper recording facilities, installation of functional alarm and alert systems, and implementation of a multi-layered security framework.
Shop owners were also instructed to conduct periodic inspections and maintenance of their security arrangements.
In addition, the police emphasised the importance of reporting on suspicious persons or activities to the police department.
