Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) Chairman M.V. Pranav Gopal on Saturday (27 December 2025) directed officials to ensure proper amenities at all tourist destinations within the VMRDA limits so that visitors do not face any inconvenience. He also instructed the authorities to open all museums under the VMRDA’s jurisdiction by 10 a.m., in view of the heavy tourist rush in the city during the ongoing holiday season.
Mr. Pranav Gopal visited the Kursura Submarine Museum on the Beach Road, which has been drawing significant crowds for the past few days. During his visit, he observed tourists standing in long queues under the sun and advised officials to allow them to take rest in the waiting halls.
Considering the heavy rush outside the Kursura Submarine Museum, the Chairman instructed officials to make arrangements for proper queue lines using ropes. He also directed that toilets should be maintained and the surroundings of the museums on the Beach Road should be kept neat and hygienic. Steps should be taken to avoid parking problems, he added. Further, he instructed the officials to ensure the availability of safe drinking water at all tourist locations.
Not just the Kusura Submarine Museum, the Tu142 Museum, Kailasagiri, Tenneti Park and other tourist spots are beaming with visitors for the past few days.
