State Planning Board Vice Chairman G. Chinna Reddy advised Markfed officials to take steps to immediately open maize procurement centres in the State.
He said that the government had directed Markfed to procure maize immediately and had granted permission for bank guarantee in the State cabinet meeting. He suggested that maize should be procured at ₹2,400 per quintal, not less than the Central government’s Minimum Support Price.
