More than 1,100 people participated in the 21st edition of the Spirit of Wipro Run organised by Wipro Limited in Coimbatore on Sunday.
The run was flagged off on the Wipro campus by Padma Shri G. Bakthavatsalam, chairman of KG Hospital. Athlete Naushin Bhanu Chand, who was recently honoured with the Kalpana Chawla Award, also participated.
The annual run was held in more than 70 cities across the world this year, with over 72,000 Wipro employees, their families, friends, clients and partners participating.
Wipro said it would make a matching contribution for every registration through Wipro Cares, the employee engagement arm of the Wipro Foundation. The funds will support more than 80 non-profit organisations working in healthcare, education and environmental sustainability.
