As many as 3,159 candidates, including 773 women, took the written examination on Sunday in Tiruchi city for common recruitment for the posts of Grade II Police Constable, Jail Warder and Firemen conducted by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB).
The written examinations were held at Jamal Mohamed College, National College, Samad Matric Higher Secondary School and Thanthai Periyar Government Arts and Science College. A total number of 3,572 candidates, including 883 women, had applied for the examination and 3,159 of them appeared.Â
Around 400 police personnel and ministerial staff were deployed at the four centres. Commissioner of Police, Tiruchi, N. Kamini – the Super Check Officer – inspected the examination centres to ensure if the applicants were subjected to checks prior to letting them into the entres to write the examination. She also checked whether provision of basic facilities, including drinking water, had been made at the venues.
She rendered advice to the police personnel and ministerial staff during the inspections, a police press release said.
