Hyderabad Collector Harichandana Dasari has directed district health officials to implement stringent measures to prevent the spread of tuberculosis (TB) and ensure quality treatment for affected individuals. Addressing a review meeting with medical officers on Wednesday, she laid out a 100-day action plan aimed at intensifying screening, awareness, and care.

The collector announced that Hyderabad district will undertake over 3,000 X-ray screenings over the next 100 days, beginning Thursday. The goal is to identify TB cases early and provide uninterrupted treatment.

ā€œTB is not a fatal disease if diagnosed early and treated consistently,ā€ the collector said. She also ordered medical officers to conduct regular field visits, ensure punctuality and keep close tabs on food supply contractors. ā€œIf contractors fail to deliver food items on time, immediate action must be taken and fresh tenders invited,ā€ she added.
