Over 6,000 aspirants from Tiruchi district appeared for the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group 1 exam on Sunday.
A total of 6,587 aspirants attended the exams held in 30 centres at schools and colleges in Tiruchi, according to an official announcement.
The day saw 2,330 aspirants staying away, marking a 26.13% of absenteeism.
Thanthai Periyar Government Arts and Science College, Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College, Bishop Heber College, E.R. Higher Secondary School, Campion Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, and Jegan Matha Matriculation Higher Secondary School were the designated exam centres in Tiruchi.
