Since engineering works related to the rebuilding of railway bridges in the Erode–Karur section are under way, a few trains will be partially cancelled on February 16, 19, 23 and 26.
According to a release from the Salem Railway Division, train no. 56809 Tiruchi–Erode Passenger, scheduled to leave Tiruchi Junction at 7.25 a.m., will be short-terminated at Karur Junction. The train will operate only between Tiruchi Junction and Karur Junction and will not run between Karur Junction and Erode Junction on the above-mentioned dates.
Similarly, train no. 16846 Sengottai–Erode Express, scheduled to depart from Sengottai at 5.20 a.m., will be short-terminated at Karur Junction. After completion of the works, the train will be operated as an unreserved special train from Karur to Erode with the same stoppages as train no. 16846 Sengottai–Erode Express.
Likewise, train no. 16845 Erode–Sengottai Express, scheduled to leave Erode Junction at 2 p.m., will instead originate from Karur Junction at 3.05 p.m. The train will not run between Erode Junction and Karur Junction and will operate from Karur Junction to Sengottai on those days, the release added.
