Passengers’ association seeks route restoration of Coimbatore-Hazrat Nizammudin Kongu Express

The Podanur Train Users’ Association has urged the Salem Railway Division to restore the Coimbatore-Hazrat Nizammudin Kongu Express (No. 12647/ 12648) along the pre-COVID original route: Salem, Dharmapuri, and Hosur.

Since the resumption of the train services after the COVID lockdown, the train is being operated along Tirupattur, Kuppam, Bengarpet, and Krishnarajapuram.

Due to the change in routing, the travelling public, including tourists, pilgrims, traders, businesspersons and students, in Dharmapuri and Hosur face considerable inconvenience, in the absence of comfortable and direct travel to New Delhi, Bhopal, Nagpur, Gwalior, Hyderabad and other parts of North and Central India.

The South Western Railway Headquarters should also kindly consider restoring the train to its original route via Dharmapuri and Hosur, general secretary of the association N. Subramanian said in the representation to the Railway authorities.
