Functionaries of the Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee are camping in New Delhi to meet senior leaders of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to discuss the party’s preparations for the 2026 Assembly poll in the Union Territory.

The PCC leaders, including former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, Member of Parliament and PCC chief V. Vaithilingam, on Monday morning met AICC general secretary in-charge Girish Chodankar, and discussed the party’s padayatra planned in Puducherry region next month. The delegation has invited Congress parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi for the padayatra.

During their stay in New Delhi, the PCC delegation has also planned to stage a protest in Jantar Mantar demanding a CBI probe into the seizure of counterfeit drugs in Puducherry recently, a Congress leader said.
