A 29-year-old man has petitioned the Saravanampatti police alleging negligence at a dog boarding centre in Coimbatore following the death of his pet.

Adarsh, a resident of Saravanampatti, said he left his Indian Kombai dog, Chikku, at Cuddle Club House – Cage Free Dog Boarding and Grooming, on September 30. The facility informed him of the dog’s death on October 4.

In his complaint, Adarsh alleged that the dog had been tied inside a cage and was left hanging while it attempted to climb up and down on the evening of October 3. The staff noticed it only on the morning of October 4, he alleged. After viewing the video recordings, he suspected that the dog’s death was due to negligence and sought action against the facility’s owner.

The police received the petition on October 7 and registered it under Community Service Register (CSR).
