Deputy Commissioner H. V. Darshan on Thursday, said pet shops selling animals and birds should be registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

He was chairing the meeting of Society for Prevention to Cruelty to Animals, Dakshina Kannada District, here. Mr. Darshan noted that only two out of 20 pet shops operating in the district were registered under the Act.
