Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off three new Amrit Bharat Express trains and one passenger train service in Kerala on Friday (January 23, 2026). The main event is slated to be held at Putharikandam Maidan in Thiruvananthapuram at 10.45 a.m.
In addition, ceremonial functions will be organised at the Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station, Thiruvananthapuram North railway station, and Thrissur railway station, where the Prime Minister’s programme will be live-streamed, said the Southern Railways in a statement in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
From Thiruvananthapuram Central, the inaugural services of Thiruvananthapuram Central-Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express and Nagercoil Junction-Mangaluru Junction Amrit Bharat Express will commence after being flagged off by the Prime Minister from the main venue. From Thiruvananthapuram North, the inaugural service of Thiruvananthapuram North-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express will commence its maiden run at 10.45 a.m. From Thrissur, the inaugural service of Thrissur-Guruvayur passenger train will also commence at 10.45 a.m.
The events will be held in the presence of elected representatives, dignitaries, railway passenger associations, zonal and divisional rail user consultative committee members, and the general public.
The timetable of the three weekly Amrit Bharat Express trains and one daily passenger train service will be notified by the Railways later.
