Police reunited two minor boys who reportedly went missing from home with their parents with the help of RTGS AI 360 cameras.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Suneel Sheoran said that on August 4 at 9.53 p.m., they received a call informing them that two boys had gone missing from Abbipuram village since 6 p.m. and that there was no information about their whereabouts.
Nandyal Rural Circle Inspector (CI) B. Srinivasula Reddy, and Sub-Inspectors from Mahanandi, Bandi Atmakur, and Gospadu and their respective teams, divided into four groups and began searching for the missing children. They searched across Mahanandi mandal, Srinivasa Centre in Nandyal, APSRTC bus stand, and the railway station.
Simultaneously, photographs of the two missing children were uploaded to the CCTV 360 app for analysis, and a match was found for one of the missing boys on a CCTV at the Nandyal APSRTC bus stand, recorded at 7:39 PM.
Police immediately rushed to the bus stand and began inquiring about the children’s whereabouts by displaying their photographs to autorickshaw drivers and passengers. At around 11:30 p.m., an autorickshaw driver reported seeing the two children on a nearby road. Upon reaching the location, the police identified them as the missing children.
The children revealed that they were students at the local government school and when their teacher reprimanded them and threatened to report the matter to their parents, they returned home, took some clothes, and decided to run away and stay in a hostel elsewhere. The police counselled both the children and their parents before reuniting them with their families.
The SP commended the Nandyal Rural Circle Inspector (CI), the SIs of Mahanandi, Bandi Atmakur, and Gospadu, and their teams for locating the missing children and reuniting them with their parents within just an hour-and-a half of receiving the complaint.
