Prakasam police recover 342 stolen mobile phones worth ₹50 lakh in three months

The Prakasam police on Wednesday (December 24) said that they recovered 342 stolen mobile phones worth ₹50 lakh over the past three months. Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju handed over the phones to their owners at District Police Office in Ongole.

Addressing the media, he said the police recovered over 6,447 stolen mobile phones worth nearly ₹9.50 crore across the district since November 2021 and handed over them to their owners. “The police have formed a special team to trace stolen mobile phones,” the SP said.

“Complain to the police if someone tries to sell a high-value mobile phone at a low price. In case of buying a second-hand mobile phone, it is advisable to check the bill before purchase,” he added.
