Prasanna Kumar Acharya on Thursday assumed office as the new Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL). Prior to his new role, Mr. Acharya was the Director (Finance) of NLCIL.
According to a press release, Mr. Acharya has nearly three decades of experience in the power, mining and infrastructure sectors. He has held key positions in organisations including GRIDCO, NTPC and Tata Power. He had made significant contributions to major infrastructure initiatives, including the Phase – II project of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).
During his tenure at NLCIL, Mr. Acharya had led several initiatives in digital transformation and governance reforms, including ERP modernisation, centralisation of various finance functions, AI-enabled systems and introduction of a vendor Invoice Management System.
Mr. Acharya also played an important role in steering joint ventures with various State utilities and in supporting NLCIL’s ambitious growth roadmap, which envisages achieving more than 20 GW of power generation capacity and over 100 MTPA of mining capacity by 2030, while progressing towards its vision of becoming a Maharatna enterprise.
