Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public meeting organised by the National Democratic Alliance in Madurai on February 28.
The meeting would be held at Mandela Nagar near Madurai Airport on Friday.
BJP state president Nainar Nagendran along with AIADMK leaders Sellur K. Raju, R.B. Udhayakumar and V.V. Rajan Chellappa, inspected the venue on Thursday evening.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nagendran said that DMK youth wing leader Udhayanidhi Stalin had been carrying a brick to highlight the AIIMS Madurai issue. “Now, the public meeting is being held at the same venue where the Prime Minister had laid the foundation stone for the AIIMS Madurai,” he said.
On the criticism of the DMK that Union Budget had nothing for Tamil Nadu, Mr. Nagendran said that the budget was for entire India. “Will the Tamil Nadu State budget allocate funds for every town?” he asked. The Centre has allotted lot of funds for airport and highways work in Tamil Nadu. The Union Government has planned to introduce bullet train services to connect Chennai with Bengaluru and Hyderabad, he added.
