A physical training teacher from St. Ann’s School has been sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment by the Fast Track Special Court in Medchal on Thursday (December 18, 2025) after being found guilty of misbehaving with a Class 8 student on a school bus. The court also slapped a fine of ₹3,000 on the accused.
The accused was identified as 35-year-old Dappulapudi Suresh. The case dates back to August 30, 2016, when students from St. Ann’s School had travelled to Gachibowli for a sports meet, accompanied by their PT teacher, Suresh. While travelling in the school bus, he misbehaved with one of the students.
Following a complaint, the Petbasheerabad police booked a case against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The verdict came after Special Public Prosecutor G. Prabhakar Reddy presented arguments with supporting evidence.
