“The DMK alliance is fragile, with the alliance partners not being in sync and distancing themselves with each other,” said K. Annamalai, former BJP State president, in Dharmapuri on Saturday (April 18, 2026).
“While PM Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi were both in Tamil Nadu on the same day [Saturday], only Mr. Modi was campaigning jointly with his alliance partner Edappadi K. Palaniswami. But, Mr. Gandhi and Mr. Stalin were on their own independent campaigns, without sharing the stage together,” he said. “This is a fragile alliance stuck together with an adhesive, and will break anytime soon,” he added.
