Rail users have demanded development of Sivakasi Railway station, especially providing basic amenities in Platform Two that lacks proper shelter, lighting and seating arrangement.
Though the station generates some ₹8 crore revenue for Madurai Railway Division, much more than that of Srivilliputtur railway station, Sivakasi was not taken up for station redevelopment work under Amrit Bharat scheme, complains Sivakasi Rail Users’ Association president, K. Suresh Kumar Dargarh.
