The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) will organise the fifth edition of raw material expo – Raw Mat India 2026 – in Coimbatore from October 6 to 8.
Event chairman D. Sridhar and the association president V. Rangaswamy told the media on Wednesday (September 30) that the event at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex will also focus on material handling, warehousing, logistics, industrial raw material recycling.
The objective of this event is to open up more avenues for purchase of raw materials to the industries of the region while giving exhibitors an opportunity to showcase their products to a large set of potential industrial buyers.
The participants are from five States and 30% of the 75 plus participants are direct manufacturers of raw materials. The event, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the three days, is supported by the Indian Lead and Zinc Development Authority, Metal and Stainless Steel Merchants Association, Materials Recyclers Association of India, and the Federation of Freight Forwarders Association.
Dinesh P. Rao Pangarkar, Principal Commissioner, GST and Central Excise, Coimbatore, will inaugurate the exhibition, and almost 10,000 visitors are expected.
The organisers said the focus will be on raw materials and resource requirements of the industries in and around Coimbatore and waste recycling.
Almost all materials used by the engineering MSMEs are today recycled, from plastics and oil to metals and packaging materials, they said.
