RBI Governor asks CM to notify BUDS Act

Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra has asked the Telangana Government to notify the BUDS (Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes) Act in the State.

The RBI Governor made the request to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday. Mr. Malhotra, who was here in connection with the RBI board meeting, called on the CM in the evening.

He explained about the initiatives taken by the apex bank on Unified Lending Interface (ULI) and also briefed him on the Government Private Deposit Claim campaign underway.

The CM informed Mr. Malhotra about the reforms ushered in different fields by the Congress Government in the State. He briefed the RBI Governor about the reforms in the energy sector and the decision to create a new power distribution company to cater to the needs of the categories supported by the Government.

Mr. Malhotra appreciated the fiscal policies of the Telangana Government and wanted it to bring in more reforms and progressive policies.
