Narayana Medical College and Hospital observed World Kidney Day by organising a kidney awareness rally to educate the public about kidney health, early detection, and prevention of kidney diseases.
Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) Commissioner Y.O. Nandan attended the programme as the chief guest and flagged off the rally at Sarvodaya College Grounds. The rally proceeded from Sarvodaya College Grounds and concluded at VRC Grounds, which saw the participation of nearly 300 medical professionals, medicos and nursing students.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nandan said that kidneys are among the most vital organs in the human body, and regular health check-ups are essential for maintaining kidney health. He stated that early diagnosis and timely treatment can help prevent life-threatening complications.
He encouraged the public to make use of the free kidney screening tests being offered by Narayana Hospital on the occasion of World Kidney Day. He also appreciated the hospital management and staff for organising such an important public awareness initiative.
Addressing the gathering, Additional Medical Superintendent of Narayana Hospital, Dr. Harish Ravulapalli, stated that the main objective of the hospital is to create awareness among people about various diseases and encourage preventive healthcare.
